The fair of Maison & Objet opens its door tomorrow, and believe it or not, we are ready ! I am still amazed. Today, after their first day of school, I take care of my children and nothing else. To make up for the next 5 days I will spend away from home. But even when I am working on my sheets, drawing and sewing a stuffed toy, when I applicate some laces or dress one of my doll, it is them whom I am thinking of, them who are inspiring me, it is thanks to them I have the energy to build this little brand. That’s what I say to the people when they are asking me how I manage to take care of my job (exhausting but so joyful) and of my two young kids (exhausting but so joyful), ah ah. There, I feel relaxed now. I also would like to thank all the women and men that are helping me so much to keep on working : Laurence and her incredible sense of putting images together, Nathalie that understands without any words my lousy drawings, Brigitte, my friend photographer who lends help with the catalog and lend me her beautiful two daughters, Chi who has magic fingers, Marta who takes a good care of the quality of the products and Frédéric my loving husband who is always available and smiling… and very happy to find himself alone sometimes with his “men”. And of course all the clients that had faith in me and have ordered my products since the very first day. Happy weekend to everybody !
Bertille’s skin
29th August 2010
No, I don’t dye my sheets in métis with basil, even if it gives me idears. The delicate skin of Bertille just needs some tea, soap of Marseille, thank you Laure for your gift, and some time to watch over the bath in my big family cooking pot. An exercice that has to do with yoga and aromatherapy : it empties the mind and perfume the kitchen.

the chapel
24th August 2010
Tomorrow is the beginning of the works in what was the orthodox chapel in Pigalle and is going to be our showroom. Nothing much to change, we like everything in this amazing place. The wall lamps from the fifties that could have been designed by Jean Cocteau, the stone floor, the church trunk, the little grid to talk to the priest… A good paint in the same shade of grey, a new shop wintow and that will be all.

D-15
19th August 2010
Hollidays are over, I probably look as if I was having fun but I am not. I am working on my booth for Maison & Objet. I do one thing after another and not necessarly in this order : sending parcels to the clients, washing prototypes that my children have been wearing for pictures (and that they were proud to get dirty), begging people on the phone to send me the last prototypes for tomorrow, cleaning the fur of my huge teddy bear, painting some shelves, writting press communiqués and lamentations… Is is crazy, I’ll never be ready on time.

pauline de nuremberg
15th August 2010
Pauline is a big doll made of wood and paper that I found this weekend in a garage sale in the Berry. As soon as my eyes crossed her, my heart got carried away. Her blue glasses eyes were looking at me, I knew I could not let her go. I didn’t know by then her name was Pauline of Nuremberg, from the name of the town she was made by the german inventor of the automaton in the mid nineteen century. But she could have been called Ginette and have been made by the grocer from the neighbourhood that I could not care less. I love my Pauline.

the wild west
7th August 2010
Some good basic, but in recycled cotton please. A pair of underpants and a long grand-father tunic easy to wear. An outfit that gives various possibilities, to live at night and dream by day. Thank you to Gaspard who loves also “being barelegs” when wearing his tunic ! Soon on the boutique.
